Chanelle Helm, an organizer for the Louisville chapter of Black Lives Matter, published an article that lays out 10 bizarre and racist “requests” for “White people.”
The article, titled, “White people, here are 10 requests from a Black Lives Matter leader,” is penned by Helm, who is a self-described, “cofounder and core organizer of Black Lives Matter Louisville.” Among the bizarre and racist demands that white people with no descendants “will your property to a black or brown family.” And for the whites that have inherited properties to “give it to a black or brown family. You’re bound to make that money in some other white privileged way.”
The article goes on to demand that white people work to fire other whites associated with the alt-right. “Get they ass fired. Call the police even: they look suspicious,” Helm demands in broken English.
In her article for Leo Weekly, she accused all whites that don’t immediately take her advice of being “racists [sic] a**holes.” She wrote, “if any of the people you intend to leave your property to are racists [sic] a**holes, change the will, and will your property to a black or brown family”.
Helm faced some pushback in the article, with one reader commenting, “As a ‘white’ woman who has always stood up to racism and taught my children to as well, I find the slamming of all white people in this article as bad as anyone who stereotypically labels anyone.” And that, “This idea that’s ‘this was done to us and now it’s your turn’ does not make it justified or OK. It’s never OK, never.”
Another commenter suggested that, “If you want a house, land, luxuries, and so on. Teach your children to study, work hard and get the required skills to get a good career not just a job but a career. If you want it earn it.”
Helm’s comments on the Charlottesville Disaster were as level headed and nuanced as one could expect from a Black Lives Activist. She called for on whites to respond violently to their kin, if they saw or heard another white person wanting to preserve American history. “If any white person at your work, or as you enter in spaces and you overhear a white person praising the actions from yesterday, first, get a pic. Get their name and more info. Hell, find out where they work — Get Them Fired. But certainly address them, and, if you need to, you got hands: use them.”
She ended her article with the hash tags “#RunUsOurLand #Reparations #YouGonLearnToday #RunUsOurMoney.” Clearly aiming to leverage any white guilt in her readers.
It should to be noted that the policies that Helm champions have been enacted against white people in other countries, and often with incredible violence. Most famously, in countries like Zimbabwe and South Africa, white people were systematically attacked, and had their property stropped away. These nations are run by leaders with the exact same race-grievance philosophy as Black Lives Matter, and should BLM gain enough influence, America would start to look a lot more like these African nations.
