No longer content with being merely pro-choice, the democratic party base is swiftly becoming “pro-abortion”; viewing the very medical act of abortion as a good, an wholesome, and necessary for women to undertake if they wish to be “liberated”. In fact, the rallying cry of this new breed of democrats is, “Abortion is liberty!”
In an interview early this week, Rep. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee stated that the DCCC announced a new strategic decision, in a bid to win back the House of Representatives in 2018. The DCCC will give and provide campaign funds to pro-life Democrats in the upcoming election because “candidates that fit the district” are key to winning a House majority.
In response to Luján’s strategic decision, the New York Times posted an op-ed suggesting that the Democratic Party should actually the topic of abortion as a “litmus test” for all their candidates, because “abortion is liberty.”
Lindy West, a pro-abortion activist behind the “Shout Your Abortion” social media campaign, wrote that “abortion is not valid fodder for such compromise.”
“Nor is racism, nor is LGBTQ. equality, nor is any issue that puts people’s fundamental humanity up for debate,” she screeched. “Abortion is not a fringe issue. Abortion is liberty.”
The pro-abortion activist continued – giving us a hint into how hysteric raving liberals view the world, “I relate to the flailing panic that is no doubt undergirding such a morally putrescent idea,” West continued. “Nineteen hyenas and a broken vacuum cleaner control the White House, and ice is becoming extinct. I get it. I am desperate and afraid as well. I am prepared to make leviathan compromises to pull us back from that brink. But there is no recognizable version of the Democratic Party that does not fight unequivocally against half its constituents’ being stripped of ownership of their own bodies and lives. This issue represents everything Democrats purport to stand for,” declared Lindy West.
She argued that “to legislatively oppose abortion is to be, at best, indifferent to the disenfranchisement, suffering and possibly even the death of women. At worst, it is to revel in those things, to believe them fundamental to the natural order.”
“Where, exactly, on that spectrum is Luján comfortable placing his party?” she questioned.
She even went on to argue that “abortion is not controversial on the left.”
“Democratic candidates are perfectly welcome to refrain from terminating their own pregnancies,” she confusedly conceded in breathless wonder over why anyone would not choose to terminate every pregnancy.
However, she continued, “to be anti-choice on a policy level is absolutely indefensible from an economic justice, racial justice, gender justice and human rights standpoint. And if the Democratic Party does not stand for any of those things, then what on earth is it?”
West concluded her screed, “Abortion is normal, abortion is common, necessary”
American comedian, actress, author, and television personality Rosie O’Donnell also took to twitter in support of Lindy West’s pro-abortion radicalism – and against the DCCC’s strategic decision, tweeting, “WOMEN SHOULD FORM OUR OWN PARTY IF DEMS DO THIS,”
