Dem Debate Lineup Set… Half Are Out

Democrats put up 20+ candidates for president and the last two debates gave everyone their chance to get a little air time. Now the kids are back to school and it’s time to get serious as we approach the September 12th debate.

The stage is set, and only 10 candidates made the cut. Each candidate had polling and fundraising requirements set forth by the Democratic National Committee, and more than half couldn’t reach the goal.

Here are the 10 candidates that will be on stage for the September 12th debate.

  • Joe Biden – Former vice president
  • Bernie Sanders – U.S. Senator
  • Elizabeth Warren – U.S. Senator
  • Cory Booker – U.S. Senator
  • Pete Buttigieg – South Bend, Indiana Mayor
  • Andrew Yang – Businessman
  • Amy Klobuchar – U.S. Senator
  • Kamala Harris – U.S. Senator
  • Beto O’Rourke – Former state representative
  • Julian Castro – Former secretary of housing and urban development

This is the first time that some of the front-runners have met each other on stage during a debate this year. The last two debates in June and July split the field with a few of the top polling candidates on each stage.

For Democrats, the showdown with Donald Trump is just 14 months away and they need to start asking themselves the hard questions if they want to stand a chance.

Is Joe Biden too gaffe prone to ever stand a chance of making it to election day without some major screwup?

Can Bernie Sanders capture the magic he had in 2016, and will his age play a factor in the minds of young voters?

Does Elizabeth Warren have what it takes to win over America and the fortitude to stand up to Donald Trump over the grueling campaign?

Can Cory Booker really excite voters and donors?

Can Pete Buttigieg win over non-white Democrats?

Is Kamala Harris too radical to win a general election?

Who are the other candidates?

It is time for the Democrats to get serious, and stop tearing down the president and start building up their followers if they ever want any real shot at winning the 2020 election.
