A prominent leftist member of the UK Parliament has told victims of horrifying sexual abuse, committed by Muslims, to shut up for “the good of diversity.”
Naz Shah, a key Muslim ally of the Labour Party’s far-left leader Jeremy Corbyn, liked and retweeted a tweet that said “those abused girls in Rotherham and elsewhere just need to shut their mouths. For the good of diversity!”
The “girls in Rotherham” line refers to a sickening child sex scandal in the UK city of Rotherham. Between 1997 and 2013, at least 1,400 young, mostly white girls were raped or sexually abused at the hands of Pakistani Muslim men. The average age of girls raped was 12 or 13 years old.
According to reports, the men would work in groups: they would flirt with the young girls in public, offering them alcohol, cigarettes, and rides in fancy cars. One man would become the girl’s “boyfriend” and then the girl would be forced into sex with thew whole group.
About 8% of Rotherham is Muslim.
A spokesman for Ms. Shah stated that both the liking of the tweet and the retweeting were done accidentally. “This was a genuine accident eight days ago that was rectified within minutes. To suggest otherwise is absolute nonsense.”
“Her record speaks for itself,” the spokesman added. “Naz has been working for over 20 years on the issues of child abuse, violence against women and grooming, which is well documented.”
