Understanding the mindset of men who pretend to be veterans or active members of the Armed Forces is difficult to understand unless it’s related to a mental disability.
Above is a recent video of a young Hispanic male who was pretending to be a Soldier, then a Navy “Soldier”, then a Ranger.
The rise in this type of fraud has escalated after the Stolen Valor Act of 2005 was struck down by the Supreme Court. The new law, under the Stolen Valor Act of 2013, only prevents imposters from benefiting monetarily from their fraud.
The result is men and women, young and old, making fools of themselves by posing as members of the military despite their unkempt appearance, incorrect uniforms and the inability to answer the simplest questions like, “What is your MOS (Military Occupational Specialty)?”
