Barack Obama was caught violating a coronavirus stay-at-home order… just one day after his wife cut a series of PSAs urging people to stay home.
On Saturday, the former President was seen playing golf at the swanky Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC. The Obamas have been members of the pricey club since leaving the White House in 2017.
Just one day prior, on Friday, Mrs. Obama released a series of PSAs, targeted at African-Americans–urging them to stay home.
In one of her PSAs, Mrs. Obama states, “Hi everybody, it’s Michelle Obama. Our communities are among the hardest hit by the coronavirus, and we’ve got to do everything we can to keep each other safe. And that means staying home because even if we are not showing any symptoms, we can still spread the virus to others. Let’s keep each other safe by just staying home. Thank you so much and God bless.”
Michelle’s statement comes at a time when African-Americans are seeing disproportionally higher deaths than any other demographic–due, in part, to more customer-facing jobs as well as overall health trends.
Washington, DC, where the Obamas currently live, is under a stay-at-home order by DC Mayor Muriel Bowser–with residents only allowed to leave their homes when essential.
