They’re not even hiding their bias anymore.
Joe Biden shocked Americans with a series of racist comments… but the media instead criticized President Trump for “seizing” on Biden’s comments and using them as an attack on his Democratic opponent.
Biden was caught in a double-feature of racist comments:
First, in an interview, he blew up at a black CBS journalist, asking him “Are you a junkie?”
The journalist, CBS News’s Errol Barnett, had asked Biden a simple question about whether he had taken a cognitive test. Biden had previously claimed that he was tested “all the time.”
Later, Biden gave a cringe-inducinganswer to a question about Cuba. Biden said that he would “re-engage” with the communist dictatorship.
He also added, “And by the way, what you all know, but most people don’t know, unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.”
Many mainstream media outlets refused to report on the shocking gaffes–and those who did instead tried to turn it into an attack on Trump.
NBC’s White House correspondent Kristen Welker complained that Trump was “intensifying his attacks against Joe Biden, again trying to paint him as a radical.”
“President Trump pouncing,” she complained, “tweeting, ‘wow, Joe Biden just lost the entire African-American community. What a dumb thing to say.’ And lashing out before departing Washington.”
ABC News’s Tom Llamas also complained about Trump, saying “President Trump [is] seizing on that comment, turning it into a new attack.”
He was joined by ABC chief congressional correspondent, Mary Bruce, who complained that “the President pounced.”
“Biden’s campaign insists he was not suggesting the black community is a monolith, but rather was ‘Referring to diversity of attitudes among Latinos’ when it comes to immigration,” she added.
It’s unclear if Biden’s latest gaffes would hurt his support among black voters. A recent poll shows that 80 percent of black voters plan on casting their ballot for Biden in November.
