Trump Pulls Even In Betting Odds

For the first time since May, President Trump is even in the betting odds for a victory against Joe Biden.

According to betting site Bwin, both Trump and Biden have an equal chance of winning the November election, with both having equal odds of -112.

Other betting sites have Trump just narrowly behind.

Overall, according to RCP, bettors give Joe Biden a 51.1% chance of winning the 2020 election, while Trump has a 48.1% chance.

While that still gives the edge to Biden, it represents a huge collapse in confidence for the former Vice President.

Biden has led the betting odds since June 2, when the Black Lives Matter protests swept the country after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

But since then, the protests have turned into deadly and destructive riots that have consumed a number of U.S. cities–including even small towns like Kenosha, Wisconsin.

In light of the riots, poll numbers have collapsed for the Black Lives Matter movement–and President Trump’s poll numbers have begun to surge as Americans blame Democrats for the lawlessness.

That’s reflected in the betting odds as well: on August 1, bettors gave Biden a 61.0% chance of winning the presidency, while Trump had a 36.4% chance.

But after a month of rioting, those numbers are almost exactly tied.
