Is Al Sharpton The Ruler Of Justice?

In a video posted Thursday by the Baltimore Sun, America’s leading race merchant “Rev.” Al Sharpton stepped up his demand that the federal government takeover state and local police departments across the country and that the feds would need to trample state’s rights to do so.

According to Sharpton:

“We need the Justice Department to step in and take over policing in this country”…”In the 20th century, they had to fight states’ rights in — to get the right to vote. We’re going to have to fight states’ rights in terms of closing down police cases.”

“Police must be held accountable”…”I don’t think all police are bad. I don’t even think most are bad. But those that are need to be held accountable.”

It is also clear that Sharpton is calling the shots when it comes to the rhetoric being used to describe the events that followed the police custody death of Freddy Grey that led to violent demonstrations in Baltimore.

In a press conference held yesterday, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake repeatedly used the term “justice” for Freddy Gray when talking about the ongoing investigation into his death and again in remarks before Sharpton’s National Action Network where she spoke in front of a banner with Sharpton’s trademark race war slogan “No Justice, No Peace.”

Mayor Rawlings-Blake also distanced herself from the word “thug” – a term she used to describe rioters less than a day earlier indicating that black leaders and activists were working together to make the word “thug” the new “n-word”.

President Barack Obama may not have gotten the memo because used the term to describe rioters as well in remarks on Thursday.

The last piece of the puzzle comes from City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby who has charged all six officers involved in the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody.

During her press conference, Mosby used Sharpton rhetoric to describe her decision to prosecute the police officers involved saying:

“To the people of Baltimore and the demonstrators across America, I heard your call for ‘No Justice, No Peace,’ your peace is sincerely needed as I work to deliver justice on behalf of this young man.”

If convicted on all charges, the officers could face up to 20 years in prison. The driver of the police transport van – Officer Caeser B. Goodson, Jr. – could face up to 63 years in prison. All of the officers charged are expected to turn themselves in later today.
