On Thursday, conservative journalist Laura Loomer handcuffed herself to Twitter’s New York City headquarters… in order to protest the company’s censorship of conservatives.
Loomer, who is Jewish, wore a yellow Star of David on her coat, a reference to Nazi Germany, where Jews were forced to publicly identify themselves.
“I threw away the key, and I’m here for the millions of conservatives who have been censored by [Twitter CEO] Jack Dorsey and [Facebook CEO] Mark Zuckerberg,” Loomer said, to the gathered crowd.
Loomer had been permanently banned from Twitter after she criticized Rep.-elect Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

“Isn’t it ironic how the twitter moment used to celebrate ‘women, LGBTQ, and minorities’ is a picture of Ilhan Omar?” Loomer wrote. “Ilhan is pro-Sharia. Ilhan is pro [female genital mutilation.] Under Sharia homosexuals are oppressed and killed. Women are abused and forced to wear the hijab. Ilhan is anti-Jewish.”
Loomer stood underneath a banner that compared her tweet to anti-Semitic comments by Louis Farrakhan, who called Jews “termites,” but has not been banned or even suspended by Twitter. She also held a sign that said, “Twitter: Jew Hatred? A-Ok. Nosey Jew? Banned!”

New York Police arrived at the scene, but did not arrest Loomer after Twitter said they would not be pressing charges against her.
Loomer’s protest ended at 6:20pm. Twitter has not reinstated her account.
