Chris Picco had just lost his wife Ashley, as she was giving birth to their son, Lennon.
Chris and Ashley had just celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary when their son, Lennon James was born three months early in an emergency C-section.
His father, Chris, posted on the couple’s Facebook account that Lennon was “fighting for his life.”
The young devoted father continued, “My wife, best friend and mother of my child passed away. I have a lifetime to grieve this unspeakable loss, but I know that right now she would want me to focus completely on baby Lennon James Picco…”
In the video, Chris sits by his son who was confined to a hospital incubator, comforting him with the song, “Blackbird.”
Chris recalled his wife saying their son would often move to music while in the womb and chose to be their for him despite the overwhelming grief.
The infant son, Lennon, died in his father’s arms four days after his birth.
A memorial fund was established in Ashley and Lennon’s memory and donations remain open until Sunday.
