It’s been a year and a half–but Hillary Clinton is still pointing the finger about her 2016 election defeat.
During a speech on Tuesday, Hillary listed a number of factors that she considered the reasons she lost to President Donald Trump. (She did not blame herself, or her ill-advised decision to forego campaigning in much of the Rust Belt.)
“[E]very day that goes by there’s more evidence and more proof of Russia and fake news and Cambridge Analytica and misogyny and sexism,” she said. “I mean it’s hard, it’s very hard.”
As she had done during a number of other speeches, Hillary cited misogyny for her defeat–namely, the “lock her up” chants that Trump led during campaign rallies.
“Some of you probably remember when Kathy Griffin held up the head of Trump,” Hillary told the crowd. “What you may not remember is they were selling Trump holding up my head at the Republican convention and nobody said a word.”
And she cited then-FBI Director James Comey, for reopening the email investigation so close to Election Day:
“But for the letter he wrote on October 28th I would have won,” she said.
And she blamed the Russians:
“You had the Russians stealing the DNC emails and then stealing emails from my campaign,” she said. “And on October 7th the CIA director said for the first time that the Russians were interfering in our election.”
And, in order to keep up with current events, she added in the left’s newest boogeyman: the NRA.
“You know the NRA has spent more money on me than any other candidate,” she said. “We’ll find out if any of that was Russian money.”
President Trump’s approval ratings have peaked at 51 percent, according to a new Rasmussen poll–showing that, despite Hillary’s finger-pointing, the majority of Americans seem to be pretty happy with the country’s 2016 pick.
