With Joe Biden allegedly just days away from making a decision on whether or not he’s running for President in 2016, Hillary Clinton has already sprung into action.
New reports show that Hillary’s team is taking the gloves off–and is prepared to leak secret, damaging stories about the Vice President in order to destroy his reputation before he even throws his hat in the ring.
New York magazine, which broke the story, reports that Hillary aide David Brock–who leads a number of pro-Hillary organizations–has been stockpiling opposition research to take down Biden.
Brock’s super PAC, Correct the Record, is prepared to smear Biden on his “ties to Wall Street; his reluctance to support the raid that killed Osama bin Laden; and his role in the Anita Hill saga as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee,” according to New York magazine.
So far, Biden seems legitimately unsure whether or not he’s actually going to run for President–a change from the usual wink-wink production that politicians do before they officially enter.
Part of his holdup is his age–he’d be, by several years, the oldest first-term President–and another is the recent death of his son, Beau, from cancer.
Beau Biden apparently wanted his father to take a third try at running for President–but Joe has alluded to the fact that his own heart might not be in a run.
Regardless of what Biden does, it’s clear that Hillary Clinton is ready to fight dirty–and willing to skewer anyone who gets in her way.
