Let me step back and explain the Deep State. Most Americans assume it’s this shady, underground group of powerful people conspiring to overthrow the government.
Nope, not at all.
We wish it was that easy to kill.
The Deep State is far worse.
It’s that guy in your neighborhood who works for the government.
The Deep State is simply government bureaucrats and federal workers who want to do things their way rather than listen to their boss . . . the President of the United States.
So rather than follow the course set by the new administration, they actively work against their directives to discredit our oust their boss.
Think of it as a vicious game of inter-office politics where Suzie in HR is pissed off at Nancy in accounting. Suzie starts nasty rumors about what Nancy did in the supply closet during the Christmas party to generally discredit her and make her feel uncomfortable.
To bring down the hammer, Suzie creates a whisper campaign about Nancy getting a kickback from a company vendor.
Then Dean, the company’s general counsel has to get involved and investigate the matter. But before that happens, Suzie gets in tight with Dean and heads to lunch with him each Wednesday to lay down the dirt about Nancy.
That’s the Deep State folks . . . and Robert Mueller is our “Dean.”
But in our very real case, there are 10,000 little bitchy Suzie’s running around feeding info to Robert Mueller and his team.
Within our departments of government where the federal employees feel most entitled, particularly the State Department and intelligence agencies, there are federal workers who, instead of doing their jobs, are obsessed in digging up dirt on anyone and everyone tied to the Trump Administration.
If you think that the $6.7 million spent on the Russia investigation by December of 2017 is grotesque, imagine the cost of thousands of federal workers who have nothing to do with the investigation, screwing around looking at Trump associates rather than doing their jobs.
But that could also be their downfall.
While our U.S. Attorney General has recused himself from the case, Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein has the authority to investigate and fire Robert Mueller for “misconduct, dereliction of duty, incapacity, conflict of interest, or for other good cause, including violation of Departmental politics.”
Rosenstein, should be actively looking at every piece of incoming and outgoing communication from Robert Mueller and his team . . . from there, Rosenstein will be able to identify not only who is part of the “Deep State” but how they have violated their duties and responsibilities to their office.
Once the Deep State players are identified (and it will be a vast list), Jeff Sessions jumps back in to prosecute and fire any little Suzies who neglected their duties in favor of being part of the “Russia investigation” (that no longer has much at all to do with Russia).
