Liberal Media Trashes America On Fourth Of July

Freedom. Pass it on!

The liberal media couldn’t go one day without trashing America… after releasing some of their most vicious attacks on the Fourth of July.

Midday on the Fourth, when many Americans were joining friends and families for a celebration of freedom and independence, leftist news site Vox tweeted: “3 reasons the American Revolution was a mistake.”

The article explained how the American revolution was a “monumental mistake”—basically by claiming that, because the Revolution benefited white people.

Vox claims that Americans were all disenfranchised under British rule which was better than simply white men having the vote.

“The main benefit of the revolution to colonists was that it gave more political power to America’s white male minority. For the vast majority of the country — its women, slaves, American Indians — the difference between disenfranchisement in an independent America and disenfranchisement in a British-controlled colonial America was negligible. If anything, the latter would’ve been preferable, since at least women and minorities wouldn’t be singled out for disenfranchisement.”

Vox would, apparently, rather have had everyone oppressed than just some people oppressed.

The article also claimed, without evidence, that “the British Empire, in all likelihood, would have abolished slavery earlier than the US did, and with less bloodshed.”

The British Empire finally banned slavery in 1843, twenty years before the U.S. Emancipation Proclamation, but it’s unclear they would have done so that early had they still controlled the lucrative Southern plantation economy.

Vox also goes through a laundry list of other petty grievances, including treatment of Native Americans—which was no better under British rule anyway—and the present-day system of government, declaring that “a constitutional monarchy is the best system of government known to man.”

Vox claimed that, rather than enjoy freedom, Americans should deem the Fourth of July a “day of mourning.” Because even the Fourth of July is upsetting and horrifying when you’re in the liberal news media.
