Even in these divisive times, many Americans took to social media to honor the victims of 9/11.
One of the founders of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project, however, used it yet another excuse to attack the President.
Ron Steslow, whose bio describes himself as cofounder of the Lincoln Project and host of their podcast, wrote a callous tweet late on September 10… comparing President Trump’s presidency to a terror attack that killed 3,000 Americans.
“Every day @realDonaldTrump remains President is equivalent to one of the WTC falling on 9/11,” tweeted Ron Steslow.
Steslow’s tweet seemed to be inspired by a Joe Biden comment he retweeted shortly before issuing his tweet.
In that tweet, Biden said, “More than 1,000 people died from COVID yesterday. [Trump] watched eight hours of TV.”
Steslow’s tweet, however, takes Biden’s statement in a twisted direction: comparing the number of people dying from COVID-19 each day to the number of Americans that were brutally murdered in a terrorist attack–and blaming the entire thing on President Trump.
After receiving huge online backlash, Steslow promptly deleted his tweet–but not before it was screenshotted by the Daily Caller’s Logan Hall.
Hall shared images of the tweet, writing, “The Lincoln Project just hires random Twitter resistance morons and calls it a principled approach to modern politics.”
The Lincoln Project, a political action committee made up of Never Trump former Republican political strategists in Washington, has attracted attention for its full-throated attacks of President Trump–as well as its attacks against moderate Republicans faces tough races down the ballot in November.
