Black Lives Matter… unless you’re a black Trump supporter.
In July, Bernell Trammell, 60, was shot to death in broad daylight in Milwaukee on July 23… and local residents believe he was killed because of his vocal support for President Donald Trump.
Trammell was killed at 12:31pm on a quiet street outside the office of eXpressions Journal, the publication that he ran for many years in Milwaukee.
Trammell, a fixture in the local community, often carried homemade political signs throughout the neighborhood. He was also happy to discuss politics, religion, and current events with his neighbors.
“He’s like a Milwaukee character,” local resident Adebisi Agoro told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
“He was a positive guy,” Agoro added. “I didn’t see him being mean or violent at all toward anybody while he was outside with his signs. He’d be on his bike. I’d see him pretty much daily.”
Trammell supported both the Black Lives Matter movement and President Trump’s re-election… but members of the community believe it was the latter that got him killed.
“If that means we’ve got to bring the federal prosecutor in, so be it,” said Pastor Jerome Smith, Sr., who runs the Greater Praise Church of God in Christ. “We got to bring them in. The reason we really need to be bringing them in is not to come in here and run rampant. We need to bring them in to get to the bottom of it and get to the facts.”
“If it was politically motivated, OK, let’s deal with it,” he added. “If it wasn’t, let’s get that off the table.”
Police have not released any leads in Trammell’s death… and, despite local media attention, Trammell’s killing has not attracted any attention from mainstream media outlets.
