Two years ago Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49 quarterback, sat during the national anthem to protest for what he called “injustice”. The move sparked controversy and national protests and made Kaepernick and unemployed NFL quarterback.
Now Nike is paying Kaepernick to be the face of a new ad campaign that is causing a similar outcry and has erased $4 billion from Nike’s books. Shares in Nike opened almost 2% down on Tuesday.
The ad is causing some people to boycott the sports apparel corporation.

Some people are not taking sides.

The people that are coming out to support Kaepernick are part of a very diverse group. Former CIA head, John O. Brennan is supporting the embattled quarterback.
