Pledge Of Allegiance Removed From Elementary School

Pledge
What the heck, Atlanta!?!

Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School has made the decision to no longer hold the morning Pledge of Allegiance.

The announcement came from campus president, Lara Zelski, and the move end the traditional pledge to start the day. The pledge is going to be replaced by one that is more inclusive.

Students will be able to say the pledge if they want during another part of the day, but the morning ritual that salutes our flag and country is no more.

Zelski explained the radical move in the press release. “In an effort to begin our day as a fully inclusive and connected community. Over the past couple of years it has become increasingly obvious that more and more of our community were choosing to not stand and/or recite the pledge.”

Since some kids didn’t stand, now the entire pledge is being thrown out.

Don’t worry; the school says they are going to write a new pledge. The new, “pledge will focus on students’ civic responsibility to their school family, community, country and our global society.”

The school is causing a national response, much like the NFL protests.

The good news is the kids at the Atlanta school will stand in the morning for the “wolf pack chant” celebrating the school.

Would you let your child go to a school that abandoned the pledge?
