Something you might find next time you’re in a men’s public restroom? Tampons and other menstrual products.
In order to be more “inclusive” and “welcoming” to transgender students, Washington State University announced they would now stock feminine products in both genders’ restrooms.
In addition, the school also declared that all buildings must have at least one “gender-neutral single-user restrooms” for student use.
“Throughout the system, students are coming forward and advocating for change,” said Nolan Yaws-Gonzalez, assistant director of WSU Vancouver Student Center, speaking to conservative news outlet Campus Reform. “We’re going to make changes that impact the whole system.”
However, the controversial decision has been protested by conservative student groups.
WSU isn’t the first school to stock women’s products in the men’s room: both University of Wisconsin at Madison and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities have similarly announced policies… as gender is quickly erased on campuses nationwide.
