In February the CDC said that they didn’t recommend masks for people, but now they seem to be rethinking the obvious.
On February 27th, the CDC tweeted this. “CDC does not currently recommend the use of facemasks to help prevent novel #coronavirus. Take everyday preventive actions, like staying home when you are sick and washing hands with soap and water, to help slow the spread of respiratory illness.”
Now, according to an article by the Washington Post, the CDC is changing their tune. They think that the general public should maybe start wearing some type of mask. They still think the surgical masks and N95 masks should be use by medical professionals, but they might urge the rest of the public to cover their face in public. With homemade masks?
This news is coming from the same people that completely botched the tests and is partially to blame for the reason we’re seeing such a spike in confirmed cases right now.
Meanwhile in Japan, the Coronavirus is much more under control. Why? They wear masks!
Even the World Health Organization said that you shouldn’t wear a mask if you are healthy, but it is the countries where the population is wearing masks that have slowed the spread of COVID-19.
In America, you’d be hard pressed to find more than a handful of people wearing masks if you go to a grocery store.
So what is it CDC? Do we wear masks or not?
Of course we do and it doesn’t take a doctor to figure it out. The CDC was caught with its pants down at the start of this and hospitals were scrambling to find masks. So instead of being honest with people, they told us not to wear them and that they were only for “healthcare workers”. Ironically, telling the public this put those same healthcare workers in danger from being completely overwhelmed.
