After what happened in China, it was inevitable that the Coronavirus was coming to America. What was under our control was how we handled it, and one organization fumbled everything from the start.
The CDC centralizing all the test results and the failure to get tests in the hands of doctors is literally killing us.
In early March, the MIT Technology Review wrote about how bad the CDC messed things up with the tests.
First, they made a simple mistake in the first batch of Coronavirus tests. A mistake that allowed the virus to spread under-detected and thousands of people caught the virus due to the mistake.
The other big mistake they made is that they didn’t allow anyone else to make tests and then they controlled all the results.
Mistake after mistake has caused things to get so bad that we are now leading the world in confirmed cases.
When it comes to beating the Coronavirus, we need ingenuity, and it doesn’t look like the solutions are coming from the CDC.
So what is next?
Will the CDC step up, or at least find ways to work with private corporations to partner up and fight this virus? We can only hope so.
